Steam locomotive 324.391

Production year: 1908
Manufacturer: StEG (Maschinenfabrik Wien)
Type of vehicle: C
The locomotive was produced by StEG (State Railway Company) in Vienna in 1908. Its original designation was IIIa and it was intended for the Buštěhrad Railway, where it pulled freight and mixed trains from Prague via Chomutov to Cheb...
It received its new number following nationalisation of the Buštěhrad Railway in the early 1920s. The locomotive’s maximum speed was 50 km/h, gauge pressure in the boiler was 11 bar and its service weight was 73.5 tonnes (including tender). It is the only preserved locomotive of this series, which was a favourite during its operation. This locomotive ended its journeys in the 1960s in Karlovy Vary as a shunter and later served as a K 45 heating boiler. Its construction was antiquated even at the time of its construction. The locomotive has an atypical external frame. It is presently on loan at the Czech Railways Museum in Lužná u Rakovníka from the collections of the National Technical Museum in Prague. It is nicknamed “Tři áčko” (“Three A”) according to its original specification and designation, and is connected to tender 311.052.
