Locomotives of the original series 429 kkStB were intended for express and local trains. A total of 380 units were produced between 1909 and 1917, of which Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) took delivery of 152 units and designated them with series 354.7. After the war ČSD was given another 10 of these locomotives. They were taken out of service in the 1960s with the last unit decommissioned in 1970.
