The locomotive was produced in 1929 at ČKD Praha under production number 1461. The construction was based on locomotives of the series Va BD.

Gauge pressure in the boiler was 13 bar, maximum speed was 55 km/h. The original specification, with output of 1250 horsepower and service weight of almost 100 tonnes, was for moderately heavy freight and passenger trains on mountainous lines, where they also completed their service. This one completed its service as a heating boiler in Šarišské Michaľany. he locomotive belongs to KHKD Praha and is presently on loan at the Czech Railways Museum in Lužná u Rakovníka from the collections of the National Technical Museum in Prague. It is nicknamed “Pětikolák” (“Five-wheeler”).
